Spotlight on Startups: Launch Pad
The Web 2.0 phenomenon has inspired a whole new wave of startups—companies that burst onto the scene with innovative and promising new technologies and business models. With Web 2.0 Expo becoming the center of gravity of the Web 2.0 world, it is a fitting venue for the launch of these companies. Carrying on the tradition started at the Web 2.0 Summit two years ago, the event organizers will choose approximately a dozen companies wishing to have their first public unveiling, of either the company or a significant new product, on the mainstage at Web 2.0 Expo as part of the Launch Pad program. Applications will be judged by a panel of venture capitalists and other experts, and approximately twelve will be chosen to debut in April.
